Ballarat Begonia Festival
7th – 9th March 2009

The ever-popular Ballarat Begonia Festival is being held over the Labour Day long weekend, 7 – 9 March 2009, offering the perfect opportunity to escape to one of Australia’s best-preserved cities.

Pride of place at the weekend festival are the 600 begonias in 230 varieties in the award winning Robert Clark Conservatory, providing the usual jaw-dropping display of colour, texture and smell.
Having marvelled at these extraordinary plants, visitors will have plenty of options to consider by wandering through the Ballarat Botanical Gardens with its famous Prime Ministers’ Walk, and down to the foreshore of Lake Wendouree, where families will be entertained by the Apex Art Show, the largest outdoor art exhibition in Australia which features more than 500 works by Victorian artists, as well as music, food and wine stall and gardening and lifestyle displays.
